The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship of 1996 was the 110th staging of Ireland’s premier hurling knock-out competition. Wexford won the championship, beating Limerick 1–13 to 0–14 in the final at Croke Park. The Match was played on the 1st September in front of a crowd of 65,849.

Man of the Match that day was Liam Dunne. The legend Martin Storey as Captain lifted the Liam McCarthy Cup. Wexford got 7 All Star awards this year to finish off what was a fantastic year for Wexford hurling with Martin Storey getting player of the year.

The Number 11 Jersey was worn by Martin Storey one of Wexford’s all-time greats. Martin played for Wexford between 1986 and 2001, appeared in the Jersey 31 times and has scored 4 – 83 while wearing his county colours.

This Jersey was designed by Cul Sliotars in partnership with Hurling for Cancer Research. €5 from each Jersey sold is donated to this great cause. This Jersey is supported by Hurling for Cancer Research and Championed by Jim Bolger and Ursula Jacob to help raise funds.
