The 1991 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final was the 104th All-Ireland Final. The match was held at Croke Park, Dublin, on 1 September 1991, between Tipperary and Kilkenny and had an attendance of 64,500. It was the first championship meeting of these two great rivals since 1971, when Tipperary were the winners 1-16 to 15.
The great Pat Fox got man of the match that day. Scoring 5 points and Declan Carr as Captain lifted the Liam McCarthy Cup. Tipperary got 7 All Star awards this year to finish off what was a fantastic year for Tipperary hurling.
The Number 15 Jersey was worn by Nicky English one of Tipperary’s all-time greats. Nicky has 6 all Stars, appeared in the Jersey 35 times and has scored 20 – 117 while wearing the blue and gold.
